Bearing One Another’s Burdens

The ministry of Care & Counseling seeks to give the world hope in Christ by providing compassion, encouragement and support to those in need. This could include counseling, support groups or a variety of care ministries.

Our goal is to bear one another’s burdens through the power of God’s Word and the wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit. As the Pastor of Care & Counseling, I want to assure you that help is available, and you are not alone.

Counseling Ministries

Pastoral Care & Counseling
Provides you an opportunity to meet personally with a pastor of our church to seek spiritual insight or biblical direction.

Pastoral Care Interns
Interns completing their master’s degree provide counsel, prayer and guidance according to your specific needs.

Professional Counseling Center
Licensed counselors and psychologists provide therapy and professional assistance. Contact the Psychological Studies Institute at 404-266-0695.

Marriage Counseling
Provides married couples an opportunity for healing and reconciliation.

Premarital Counseling
Loving as One is conducted in a class setting with other engaged couples. Topics include: “A Biblical Perspective on Marriage, Anger Management, Conflict Resolution and Personality Differences.

Support Groups

Grace for Grief
Grace for Grief takes a biblical view of good and bad grief in the life of grieving persons. Each week consists of Bible studies, exploring the stages of grief, and times for sharing. Pastor Kent Hawkins leads this four week series.

Care Ministries

Funerals & Memorial Services
The Care and Counseling ministry is available to assist you planning and conducting funeral and memorial services. Please contact our office for assistance.

Hospital Visitation
Pastors and elders are available to visit you should you become hospitalized due to illness or injury. This care ministry follows the urging of scripture to visit the sick and pray for them.

Homebound / Shut-in Ministry
This one-on-one ministry carries the love of Jesus Christ to persons confined to their homes. Caregivers create a personal relationship and a sense of community with the homebound.

Compassionate Hearts
This confidential ministry reaches out to those who have HIV/AIDS or family members affected by HIV/AIDS. Encouragement, support and community are experienced through home fellowship meals, Bible studies and recreational activities.
